The King of the pen, Ne-Yo has released his new single entitled “Beautiful Monster” from his upcoming album that’s due out in September. The uptempo melody reminds me of “Billie Jean” by the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson and some electronica music all in one mixture. To me, it’s different from his usual R&B/Pop songs and personally, I kind of like it. One thing about Ne-yo, he never seems to disappoint his fans with his new music. He’s surely a risk taker.. I can see this blasting my ear drums on the radio soon.
You can say what you want about Sean Combs, Diddy, P.Diddy, Puff, Puff Daddy and his various aliases , but HE IS a business mogul! You can hate him all you want, but his business ethics are disgusting. I love it!!! However, I did wish that he did keep his R&B raster of Faith Evans, Carl Thomas, Total, 112, Cherri Dennis..ect, but we don’t know what happened behind closed doors between him or them and honestly, I don’t want to seem negative from either perspective going into detail. We only have a slight idea about what went on, right?! Everybody has a chance of returning… God willing. If it’s for you, no forces of darkness can prevail. Remember that. Check the vault below!
Chris Brown is supplying his fan-base with numerous of videos hitting the web this week! The twenty-one year old multi-platinum singer is not only proving the faulty media and “haters” but he’s also giving his fans what they’ve craved for. Check out his two recent videos “Deuces” ft. Tyga and “No bullshit” where he — well you can watch for yourself! All i can say, both videos are worth the watch. Both songs are dope too.
And in other news… The Bajan pop singer, Rihanna has given the U.S. “Rockstar 101″ as her fourth single from her current album Rated R. I was kind of anticipating for Te amo, but Europe has that. *shrug* Oh well. Peep out the video below:

I think females need to listen to the lyrics of this song. It’s not about the percentages, however some women need to take more pride within themselves. This is a dog eat dog world, but you have to love yourself and not settle for less because it’ll end up being the worst transition in life…
Among several major leaks that surfaced the Internet, Alicia Keys third single entitled “Un-thinkable (I’m ready)” from her “Elements of freedom” album has leaked various websites.
The song actually describes a tale of two people falling for one another throughout different periods of times, yet between their family members and the time it was taking place with racial profiling, their relationship came to a slight halt. Nevertheless, Alicia Keys and her dapper love interest, didnt allow that to stop what they felt for each other. I think it’s a classic revised Romeo and Juliet! Love it
Lena Horne passed away on May 9th, 2010 at New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. She was survived by her grandchildren Teddy and Lena Jones. She was best recognized for her stunning beauty, her sultry voice and her amazing acting skills throughout the 1930′s – 1990′s and showed her political values by joining in the civil rights movement in 1941.
Lena Mary Calhoun Horne became one of the founding pioneers for African-Americans and other multi-racial individuals in the music and film industry. She was known for becoming one of the few fortunate ethnic entertainers to ever gain a long term contract with MGM, being a political activist and a phenomenal jazz singer who opened gates by performing with the majority at that time. She will be truly missed.

I’m not alone, I’m free. I no longer have to be a credit, I don’t have to be a symbol to anybody; I don’t have to be a first to anybody. – Lena Horne.
I don’t have the exact words to say about this rendition the “soul king” has done. I absolutely love it! You know how other artists attempts to do a classic and either it doesn’t have originality, they don’t do a good job or it’s missing an element the original person did. Musiq (as usual) added his own creative flavor to the mix and came out amazing! He never seems to disappoint me at all! I cannot wait for his album to come.
This is my first pick of my new segment of this blog entitled “Artist of the week”
You may have seen me post some blogs about this young woman or you may be familiar with her music (“I want u 2″, “Good girls”) or may have seen her on 106&PARK for wild out Wednesday, you may have seen her performing. If you’re new to the bus, don’t hesitate to put your money in the machine and hop on the ride to her journey of success and completing her dreams that she damn well worked hard for. Not only is she an amazing singer, she’s an energetic performer and her heart is bigger than anyone I’ve ever came across with. If you don’t know the name by now, let me introduce you to Shadina Bettis. Also known as Shadina. She is a rising star hailing from Baltimore, Maryland.
Not only does she have the good graces of her mother’s looks and charm, she also has a voice just like hers. Well, being born into the good graces, one would not expect otherwise. Shadina is already being compared as the next big thing and surely, she has the vocals and capabilities to become one of them. She is definitely someone you should be looking out for in the future. With her hard work and dedication to become one of the most popular indie artists worldwide says a lot about the average person out there, never give up your dreams. No matter how old or young.
Shadina’s debut album entitled “Born 4 this” under her established label LMLD (Like Mother Like Daughter music group)/Embark records is already having the streets wanting more of this beautiful songstress. The seventeen track disk includes her hit singles “I want u 2″ and “Good girls” which features Chubb Rock. The album signifies new age and old school music with various contrasts of different genres (Funk, R&B, Pop, Soul). It’s certainly something for the people. From her meaningful lyrics to her sultry voice, you will fall in love with Ms. Shadina and even more when you see how wonderful of a person she is.
Check her out below!
Also, be on the look out for “Street Grind” co-starring Shadina herself! The television competition will make it’s debut sometime in June on your local T.V. station. I’ll update the times and what not.

The Queen Bee cannot stop working to save her life! I love it. Anyway, she will be making her “comeback” to your computer and television screens with her new video entitled “Why don’t you love me”. The song is penned by her lovely sister and songstress, Solange Knowles. From the trailer, the video looks like it’s going to be hot! I’m actually excited to see what Beyonce has to offer.
By the way, has anyone saw her new tattoo?
I’m kind of shocked that she’d pick “Brooklyn” when she’s originally from Texas and resides in New York… However, it must be a reason for that.. LOL!
